EXPERIENCE:
It all started for me in Upstate New
York, working for a shop called SuperStang restoring only Ford products, Mustang
GT’s, KR’s, Shelbys and Sunbeam Tigers not to mention the Thunderbolt we did!It was mostly a part time job while I was in
college, but it grew into a full time job even while I was attending the State
University of New York at Alfred chasing a degree in Automotive Service Engineering
and a music degree. Both of which I achieved within 4 years.
While in college, I not only was a Dean’s list student
for all 4 years, but I also passed my ASE Master Technician test in all 12
requirements back in 1982.
Once I decided Music was not a good paying gig, I
decided cars were in my passion! I packed up and moved to Atlanta.There I found a job with Atlanta Classic Cars and Ms. Ellis.After 15 years of dealership work, MBUSI
recruited me in the Service Engineering Team. Knowing fuel systems, OBD1, OBD2,
Euro OBD, ESP, and telematics systems, it was a good fit. So for the next 8
years of a new vehicle being produced in the US along with all the issues that
arose, I was recruited by MBTech as a consultant for at the time
DaimlerChrysler. I branched out into D2B/MOST protocols, CAN/LIN bus and
staffing at MBUSI, MBUSA and BMW NA.
Well, then the down turn came.I was relieved of my duties after 1 ½
years.I guess you can say last in first
out. Next, Alpine Electronics found me.I worked in Allendale New Jersey as
Operations Manager responsible for all OEM Telematics for Mercedes Benz, BMW,
Jag and Land Rover. Due to all the travel involved after 1 1/2 years, I came
back to Alabama.
That’s when I found what I loved doing, working on and restoring vehicles!Funny after all these years it comes around
full circle. It started with Mustangs
and I just completed a 1980 MGB Limited. What fun!
CERTIFICATIONS:
I bring several years of Mercedes Benz
Master technician skills, 15 years as a Mercedes Benz Master Technician, and have
the credentials of Factory Technical Training, ASE Master Certification and a
member of SAE for 10 years.
